In Loving Memory Of
Scott A. Hutchinson
October 12, 1935 – April 28, 2026
Scott A. Hutchinson was born on October 12, 1935 in Troy, NY and passed away on April 28, 2026 at the age of 90 following a few years of declining health. He was the 3rd child of 4, following his 2 sisters Sylvia and Doris and joined later by his brother Tom in 1937. The family moved from NY to South Windham, Maine in 1941 and then in January 1944, moved cross country in their 1937 Chevy from Maine to San Jose, California where their dad worked at Montgomery Wards. They moved to Modesto in 1949 and lived on Tully Road (out in the country at that time).
Scott worked part time for their landlord who was a dairy farmer, doing all sorts of farm chores. He loved working with animals and ultimately ended up becoming an expert in his life-long occupation in the cattle reproductive field. His rancher clients liked him so much, a few named their young sons after him. His other life-long passion was hunting with his brother Tom (mainly for waterfowl, pheasant, wild turkey, dove and other upland game birds). They hunted in several states plus internationally including Canada, Iceland, Argentina, Mexico & Uruguay. Scott served honorably in the US Army for 2 years from October 1958 to October 1960. He enjoyed singing in a local men’s chorus for many years, putting on shows at various events and also enjoyed singing in a barbershop group. Scott had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. Scott was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, his parents Irene & Edward (Hutch) and his older sister Sylvia. Scott is survived by his sister Doris, his brother Tom, his son Mike, his 2 stepdaughters Monnica and Terrie plus nieces and nephews.
Scott’s memorial services will be held on May 22nd @ 4:00 PM at Allen Mortuary, 247 North Broadway, Turlock, CA.
