Sigga Sharp October 12, 1930 - August 23, 2023

Sigriður Theodora Sharp, also known as Sigga, peacefully passed away on August 23, 2023, at the age of 92 in Modesto, CA. She was born on October 12, 1930, in Austvaðsholt, Árbær, Iceland, to her loving parents Jon and Katrin. Sigga was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Olafur, Saemundur “Saemi”, and Guðrun (Duna), and her beloved husband, Paul F. Sharp, Jr.

She had a special place in her heart for her family, leaving behind her daughter Kathryn Sharp, and son Paul “Skip” Sharp (wife Shannon), and her beloved grandchildren Madison (husband Kyle), Justin (wife Katy), Katherine, Sigga, and Anastacia. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Rex and Ronin, sons of Kyle and Madison. She will be deeply missed by her sister Aðalbjörg “Bogga”, as well as her brother Gunnar. Sigga also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, and all her beloved Fjölskylda in Iceland.

Sigga served as a teller and manager at Farmers and Merchants Bank on McHenry for many years. As a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church, she enjoyed singing in the choir and attending Spirit Salon. Sigga enjoyed knitting and quilting, making beautiful pieces for all her loved ones.

A memorial service will be held in Sigga’s honor on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 2pm at Centenary United Methodist Church in Modesto. The service will be a time to celebrate her life and share cherished memories.

Sigga will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her warm and compassionate heart, dedication to her family and faith, as well as her joyful spirit will forever be remembered. May her memory be eternal!
