Stephen “Steve” Waggle, 83, of Modesto, CA, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 25, 1940, in Modesto, CA, to William and Frances (Dickman) Waggle. He graduated from Oakdale High School in 1960 and attended University of California, Berkeley, then graduated from San Francisco State. He went on to attain his CPA certification, working for Arthur Anderson and Wolfsen’s Meat before opening his own CPA firm in Los Banos. He married Sandra Moen on October 14, 2000, and they enjoyed 24 beautiful years together.

Steve is a past president of the Los Banos Lions Club, and has served on the boards of the Los Banos Chamber of Commerce, the President’s Circle of Merced College, including 2 years as a president, and Valley Children’s Hospital. He also serves as a volunteer mentor for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Youth), which serves the children in foster care in Stanislaus County. He was an active member of Crosspoint Community Church of Modesto.

He is survived by his children, Susan Newman, David Waggle, and Eric Waggle; his stepchildren, Christine Carlson, Spencer Moen, and Mary Beth Moen; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Kyle, Cassidy, Samantha, Brandon, Janie, Justin, Zoe, Travis, Paige, Devon and Wyatt, Caelyn, Sandee, Reyn, Shay, Sequoia and 12 great grandchildren, with a great, great grandchild due this month. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandy, and stepson Drew.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Crosspoint Community Church, 1301 12th Street, Modesto, CA.
