Teako Matthew Hoskins Jr. was born October 27, 1993. He is the middle child of three boys, Jermaine Beard and Johnny Badie. He is survived by his mom Sherry Wright; his papa Leo Wright; his nieces Jekera Beard, Jeveah Badie; nephew Jermaine Beard and his aunties Gloria, Monique, Jennett and all of his uncles Wayne, Tyrone, Dax, Tim, Chaze and a host of great aunts and uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
Teako was baptized at the Revival Center in Modesto at an early age. He worked as a team leader at Jack In The Box for 13 years where he wore many hats including manager, supervisor, consultant and advisor. Teako was a dedicated and loyal employee; even taking calls on his days off and supporting without being on the clock. He had a beautiful spirit, warm heart and an infectious smile. Teako was a joy to be around and was the life of the party. He had a gentle soul, but boy you didn’t want to make him mad. He showed the greatest interest in music and his favorite artist was Nickie Minaj. He never hesitated on doing what he wanted, like attending her concerts or buying her perfume. Teako cherished shopping but even more he was deeply connected with his family and his cousin Shamonte was his world.
Shamontae was his baby girly, his cousin, his sister and his everything and he was her everything; they spent their time from sun up to sun down on the phone with each other. Teaks cousins Elleyah, Dre, Shamontae and Kenny say that he was the heart of their little circle and they all looked forward to the group calls on Friday nights. Teako helped his mom and papa raise his niece Jevera and nephew Jermaine and he loved them as his own. Jervera was his bestie and he showered her with gifts and lots of love. When Jervera realized her uncle would do just about anything for her she knew she had the upper hand. Boy did she play her hand. She knew if mom wouldn’t get it, her Uncle Teak would.
He enjoyed spending time talking with his mom and listening to Christian music. His two favorite songs were Tamela Mann, Take me to the King and Marvin Sapp, Never would have made it.
“Teako, thank you for being a part of our lives, we love you!”
A celebration of Teako’s life will be held at The Revival Church, 825 7th St. Modesto, CA on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 11:30a.m.
