Vera Lorraine Johnson passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023. She was a loving mother of two children and a homemaker. She loved creating beautiful crafts of all kinds. She was a painter, she made porcelain and wooden dolls. She made quilts that she would give to family to enjoy. She enjoyed taking pictures. She was an amazing cook; her specialty was homemade cakes and pies, and she could whip up a great meal out of whatever she had in the cabinet when unexpected guests would come by. She was a fast driver behind the wheel of her car. She loved gardening so much so that she could make anything grow, and she knew the botanical names of the lovely plants that she grew. She could tell an amazing story that would capture her grandchildren’s imagination.
She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Johnson, her son Roy Johnson, and her sister Betty Kays. She leaves behind her daughter Judy Johnson, grandchildren Candi Allen, Jason Whaley, Tracy DeLisle, and Myia Davila. She also leaves behind her 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, her sister Loretta Gibson, and her brother Arland Babb. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be cherished and missed.
A funeral service will be held Friday April 7, 2023 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Allen Mortuary.
