Vernon L. Wheeland, age 83, of Crows Landing, California, passed away on April 25, 2026.
Born in Vallejo, California, Vernon was a proud graduate of Patterson High School and went on to build a lifelong career as a construction foreman. He was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and the respect he earned from those who worked alongside him. He was also an advocate for animals and pets and did what he could to make sure they were in good homes. Vernon was also known for his dedication to the Pee Wee and Little League teams in Crows Landing where he coached those kids for many years.
Vernon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Wheeland; his parents, Jack and Vivian Wheeland; and his brothers, Ronald Wheeland and Daniel Wheeland.
He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Pickett, Diana Wheeland, Cindy Hoehn, and Mary Garcia; his brothers, Bill Wheeland and Dennis Wheeland; his sons, Doug Wheeland, Don Wheeland, Vernie Wheeland, and Jimmy Wheeland; and his grandson, Jack Wheeland. He leaves behind a large and loving family who will miss him deeply.
Vernon will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his steady presence, and the life he built through hard work and perseverance.
