Virginia Covey
February 1, 1923 – May 28,2026
Mary Virginia Covey, born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Arthur and Mary Lee, passed away peacefully at the age of 103 in Sonora, California. She was the beloved mother of her daughter, Bobbie Oliver, and a cherished grandmother to James (Shelli) Oliver, Jason (Trisha) Oliver, and Shannon(Andrew) Freitas, along with nine great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Esten Covey, and her siblings: Fred Lee, Frida Moore, Marguerite Spurlock, and Betty Baba.
Virginia had a passion for travel, and she was tenacious in all that she did. She worked on the cannery lines and was known for her fun-loving spirit.
A graveside service will be held at Turlock Memorial Park on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Mother Lode Christian School.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
