    From David Yonan:

So sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. I met Wayne in 1983 as an Econ graduate at CSUS. Tom Watling my advisor was helping me look for a job in the summer of 1983 right after graduation an no one was hiring””had tried Foster Farms and Gallo and nothing was available. Tom set up a meeting for me to Meet Wayne as Bank Manager of Bank of America in Turlock. Wayne took the meeting and met me, a scared to death 22 year old college graduate. Well, he must have liked me because he referred me to the. regional office for hiring college graduates in Fresno and an interview was set up. On August 15th 1983 I started working for Bank of America in the Modesto Office for Commercial Banking. I just retired after 37 years on August 31, 2020. During my 37 years at the bank I met my wife (in 1985-33 years of marriage) and can say that thanks to Wayne, yes I’m the exception “”one job””one wife. Ha ha.

I had a rush of memories when I say the announcement of Wayne’s passing on Sunday. I kept in touch with Wayne for a while why he was still at BAC and then later when he was a director for farm credit””always letting him know that I was still with the bank and trying to do him right. I think his daughter Kathleen was at CSUS while I was there but too many memories to try to recall all. My thoughts and prayers to the family s they should know Wayne was an awesome gentlemen who always went the extra mile””I’m proof of that. May all your memories of Wayne be as wonderful as mine and may we all try to live up to the standards he set. The broke the mold when Wayne passed.
