William Young Martin passed away August 14, 2025, in Woodland Hills, California, after a short illness. He was born April 4, 1944 in City of Angels Hospital, Los Angeles California, son of Melrowe and Marie Martin. He was 81 years old. A life-long Los Angeles resident, he attended the public schools and graduated from California State University Northridge. He worked as an engineer with Lockheed and Micom. He enjoyed Mustang automobiles, private rail car travel and restoration, ham radio, and traveling, especially to our National Parks. He was a member of the American Association of Private Railcar Owners (AAPRCO), Mustang Owners Club of California (MOCC) and American Radio Relay League (ARRL) for many years. He is survived by his cousins and their children and grandchildren, as well as his partner of 37 years, Evelyn Brown. Services were held in Turlock, California, on August 27, 2025, followed by interment at Turlock Memorial Park. A celebration of life will be held in Los Angeles at a future date. His wishes were to honor his memory with donations to Pierce College Scholarship Fund, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Los Angeles, and Operation Gratitude.
