Zelmer Junior Foster, Jr. was born January 14, 1961, in Merced, California, to Zelmer and Gloria Foster.
Zelmer lived all of his life in Dos Palos where he received his education and met and married the love of his life, Shelly Williams. Together they had four children: Donyelle Campbell, Shajuana Foster, Ashley Foster and Karamyson Foster. Zelmer had two other children: Patrick Foster and Casaundra Herbert.
Zelmer was employed by several local businesses. Koda Rice Mill, San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, and various farmers in the Agriculture industry. However, the job he loved most was breeding and selling pedigree dogs.
Zelmer united with Mt. Moriah First Baptist Church and was baptized as a youth. He attended and supported the ministry.
His love of music included old school artist such as James Brown and Etta James and others. His grandchildren were his “entire” world. So much, that he went to school and ate lunch with his oldest granddaughter daily. All of her friends called him “grandpa”. Zelmer was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding with Shelly, family and friends.
Zelmer was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, two sisters and two brothers.
Zelmer passed from this life December 2, 2025, in Modesto, California. He leaves to cherish his love and memories his wife of 47 years Shelly, his mother, six children, fifteen grandchildren, four sisters, two brothers and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws and many friends.
Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Mt. Moriah First Baptist Church, 21372 Reynolds Ave in Dos Palos.
