Bill (William B.) Johnson entered the gates of heaven with joy on Tuesday, June 12, at 10 a.m.
Bill was born April 24, 1928 in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Oscar B. and Iona M. Johnson. At 9 years of age, his family moved to Turlock, CA where he attended high school. In July of 1949, he married Mary Lou Sparks, the love of his life. He taught school in the Turlock area before moving his family to Ventura and then to Simi Valley where he became an elementary school principal.
Bill was well known for his sense of humor and sincere Christian faith. Fourteen years ago Bill and Mary sold their home in Simi Valley and moved to Covenant Village where they have resided for the past 14 years.
Bill is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Mary Lou, sister Dolores (Bob) McGregor, and four children: David (Tamara) Johnson of Eau Claire, WI, Victoria (William) Bray of Pendleton, IN, Randy (Teri) Johnson of Simi Valley, CA, and Joan (Bryan) of Highland Ranch, CO.
Fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren will miss him greatly.
The celebration of his life will be at Crossroads Church on Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m.
Remembrances can be given to Covenant Village of Turlock, Crossroads Church or a charity of your choice.

June 13, 2018 at 10:59 pmMy earliest memories are of Uncle Bill and Aunt Mary coming to salinas. Thats where i fell in love with my uncle Bill, so much so that i wanted to go home with them. Ill remember Uncle Bill as a leader, mentor and a strong foundation of his beliefs in the lord and the good in people. I love and miss you.
