Janice Marie Winans

Oct. 1929 – Mar. 2018

Janice Marie Winans passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. An only child of Robert and Eva McNutt, she was born in Visalia, CA.  As a homemaker most of her life, Janice was an excellent cook, entertainer and avid bridge player with lifelong friends.

Janice spent 69 years with her beloved husband Glen, during which time she helped him start his State Farm Insurance business. Glen passed away in December.  During their retirement Janice and Glen traveled by motor home through the United States following their son, Jeff Winans’ football career. They also enjoyed snow birding in Arizona, Oregon and their cabin in Strawberry.

Janice is survived by daughters Sharolyn Winans and Sandra Winans-Nolan and preceded in death by son Jeffrey Winans.

A private family service is planned for the spring.  Please share your memories on this website.

Lots of fond memories with the Winans. Going for a joy ride with Glen in his “Thing”. Visiting with them at there pad in Arizona and going out for a nice diner. She could make a terrific Manhantin. Will miss both of them.

As a teenager in the late 50s-60s, I was an occasional babysitter for the Winans daughters and their brother Jeff. I admired Glen and Janice and saw them as wonderful examples of a perfect couple and family. I moved away and did not keep in touch but have good memories of those times. I know the girls must miss their parents and brother.

Jeff and I were married , divorced and back together with a love that could never die over 34 years two months from getting re-married before his unexpected death, but we were blessed with our son Travis and now a beautiful Granddaughter, Olivia Mae Winans. So sorry Janice and Glen never had the blessing of seeing her before they both passed away. We hope they had love, peace and Joy in their hearts. Sad Travis and Olivia were not included in the obituary as their Grandson and Great-Granddaughter survivors along with Sandra and Shari.

Sending Sandra and Shari our love.
