Martha Lou Dunn “Marty” passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in Turlock at age 83. Marty, which she preferred to be called, was one of eight children born to Frank and Ruth Day in Henrietta, Oklahoma. She married Derald Dunn on Christmas day 1963 and they made Turlock their permanent home in 1967. She united with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in 1976 and remained a faithful member. Marty worked alongside her husband at Sav-Mor Drugs which they owned for 19 years. She was the bookkeeper and managed the daily operations. They retired in 1986. Marty was an avid tennis player and participated in many tournaments. She also enjoyed watching the sport on television. She was a member of Turlock Fitness and Racquetball Club where she played tennis regularly. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her small close knit family. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Derald Dunn. Two children: Brad (Mary) Byers of Denair and Iva Browning of Hilmar. One granddaughter, Ryanne (Steve) Borba of Hilmar and three great grandchildren, Kayleb, Kynlee and Zoey. A sister, Nola (Steward) Benton and brother, Tom (Barbara) Day.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimers Association, act.alz.org/donate, or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; 640 N. Minaret, Turlock, CA 95380.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at 11am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Urn placement will be in Turlock Memorial Park Mausoleum at 2:30pm.
