Mary Ann Moore

February 29, 1948 ~ June 12, 2026

Mary Ann Moore, beloved by all who crossed her path, went home to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 12, 2026. Mary was born on February 29, 1948 to Paul and Doris Wenstrand. She grew up in the small town of Denair, CA with three brothers who loved her well.

In November of 1972 she was introduced to Robert Moore at a church Bible study.  They quickly fell in love and married three months later on February 3, 1973.  Becoming a mother of four at the age of 24 to what her oldest bonus son called “The Wild Bunch” was assuredly no easy task.  She grabbed the reins and did her very best, always, to love them and be there for them in any way she could.  In January of 1974, Mary gave birth to their son James and their family was complete.

Mary was a teacher, both in occupation and in life.  She worked at several private schools over the years and finished out her career at Cloverland Elementary in Oakdale, CA.  Teaching Kindergarten for over 30 years was an absolute joy for her.  At the end she was still talking about her students by name, praying for their happiness and well-being.

Mary is survived by her husband, Robert Moore, brothers Don Wenstrand (Alison), and Gerald Wenstrand (Carol), her son James Moore (Valle) and her bonus children Jeff Moore (Saundra), Greg Moore (Victoria) and Wendie King (Ben).  Mary also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Paul Wenstrand, Doris (Perrson) Wenstrand, brother Arlo Wenstrand (Jan) and her bonus daughter Vickie Moore.

A celebration of life will be held at the Four Seasons Church, 216 Columbia Ave. Turlock, CA on June 27, 2026 at 11 a.m.  All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Faith Home Teen Challenge, which has blessed Mary for many years with work around the house, and more importantly, many friendships which she cherished.
